런던 동네가 전라도 사투리로 왁자지껄한다. 아이들이 한 집 걸러서 사라지고 있다. 도리안은 인터넷 검색 할 필요도 없이 누구 짓인지 알 것 같다고 동자승에게 말한다. 보우기 맨 짓임이 틀림없어.

보우기 맨의 특징으로는 눈은 크고 둥글납작해서 침대 밑이나 장롱 속의 희미한 불빛에서도 잘 보인다. 눈이 마주친다면 아이들은 정말 기겁을 할 것이다.

피부는 진짜 더럽다. 화장지는 엠보싱 화장지가 그곳을 닦기 편하지만 보우기 맨의 피부는 사마귀나 종기가 나있어 두들두들하다. 아이들의 손등에 사마귀가 나있다면 보우기 맨이 지나쳐 갔다고 보면 틀림이 없다.

어느 듯 밤이 찾아 왔다. 우리가 기다리는 것은 밤이 아니다. 보우기 맨이지. 보우기맨이 잘 나타나는 장롱 속에 숨어 있는 도리안.

도리안이 장롱 속에서 지키고 있지만 어린 동자승은 보우기 맨이 나타난다면 무서울 것이다. 깜깜한 어둠 속에서 엄마의 눈을 뚫어져라 쳐다보며 귀신이다라고 생각을 하면 정말 엄마도 귀신처럼 보이잖아. 아휴 그 생각을 하니 정말 무서워진다. 요즘 아이들은 엄마랑 같이 자는 경우가 드물지. 잘 살아서 각 방을 쓰니까. 어둠에서 누군가를 쳐다보는 것은 상당히 무서움을 불러온다.

아직까지는 장롱 속에서 비쳐오는 눈빛이 2개뿐이다. 가장 최소의 2의 배수 2. 잠시 엄마 생각에 빠져든 동자승.

앗! 장롱 속에 눈빛이 4개가 되었다. 동자승의 놀라는 눈빛을 감지한 도리안. 자신의 머리 위에 무언가가 있다는 것을 느낀다.
